Jessica A. Ekhoff

''I don't know what we would have done without your help. Your [clearance] work has given us a lot of confidence moving [forward].''

Jessica Ekhoff has always loved a good story. When it came time to choose a college, Jessica opted for the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri. It was there that she took a class on media and communications law and decided to go to law school. After receiving her B.A., summa cum laude, with majors in political science and psychology and a minor in journalism, Jessica moved on to the University of Chicago Law School, graduating in 2012.

Jessica brings her passion for crafting great stories into her law practice. She knows how to ask the right questions and create compelling narratives. She takes the time to explore the industries that matter to her clients so she can understand the greater context of their problems and goals. Most of all, she understands that great branding is a critical element of the stories her clients want to tell.

Jessica's broad array of experiences include litigation matters in federal and state court, as well as the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board; managing an international trademark portfolio, including all aspects of trademark prosecution and clearance in the United States and abroad; handling alternative dispute resolution proceedings; overseeing the claims administration process for a false advertising class action lawsuit; negotiating and drafting trademark and copyright assignments and licenses, talent management agreements, website terms of use, and privacy policies; preparing clearance reports to enable filmmakers to obtain E&O insurance; and resolving domain name disputes through UDRP and URS proceedings.

When she's off the clock Jessica enjoys taking improv comedy classes, listening to podcasts, reading fiction, practicing yoga, and, of course, writing.
