Jakob N. Bloomfield
Jakob joined the firm in October 2025 after completing his J.D. at University of Illinois College of Law. During his time in law school, Jakob was a Notes Editor for the University of Illinois Journal of Law, Technology & Policy. His note “‘But My Favorite Influencer Told Me To:’ How and When to Assign Liability to Influencers When Their Followers Commit Torts” was awarded “Best Note” by the journal’s editors and published in the Spring of 2025. Jakob also served as a Teaching Assistant for the law school’s “Intro to Intellectual Property” course and participated in AIPLA’s Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Court competition. During his law school summers, Jakob interned at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office before joining Pattishall as a Summer Associate the following year.
Prior to law school, Jakob received his Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Emory University. After completing his undergraduate degree, Jakob joined Teach for America and taught high school math for two years in Atlanta Public Schools where he also served as his school’s cross country and distance track coach. Outside of work, Jakob enjoys watching English Premier League soccer, exercising, and cooking for his friends.
