As a Firm, Pattishall, McAuliffe places great importance on scholarship and service to the profession. As such, associates are strongly encouraged to seek service opportunities that both support our firm’s values and express each associate’s individual interests. Firm members serve as adjunct professors at Northwestern University, DePaul University and John Marshall law schools, and as a lecturer on advanced topics in trademark law at the University of Chicago Law School. Firm members have written casebooks used in top law schools, and associates and partners alike regularly publish articles and give presentations throughout the country. The Firm also actively supports associates in their Pro Bono efforts, either through Lawyers for the Creative Arts or other organizations of the associate?s choosing.
We also are active in local and national bar associations, often in leadership positions, with firm members having served as President of the Chicago Bar Association, Regent of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and Chairman of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the ABA, as well as having chaired many national committees and advised Congress on proposed legislation.
