Daniel S. Hess

Daniel is an associate attorney with a deep passion for intellectual property law.  His litigation experience includes a wide variety of patent, copyright, trademark and unfair competition matters as well as significant commercial litigation experience.  Daniel has extensive experience representing brand owners in trademark prosecution and enforcement matters in state and federal courts as well as several alternative dispute resolution (ADR) venues.  He has litigated several patent, trade-secret, and commercial/contract cases for industry leading companies as well as burgeoning start-ups.

In addition to litigation, Daniel offers individuals and businesses strategic counseling for maximizing intellectual property asset value.  He has considerable experience negotiating intellectual property licensing agreements for major commercial industry leaders.  Daniel strives to always put his client’s business objectives first when it comes to their intellectual property portfolios.

Daniel earned his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  While in law school, Daniel served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law, Technology & Policy publishing articles on a variety of emerging topics in the field of intellectual property law.  He received a CALI Award for Excellence in Trademark & Unfair Competition Law.

In his free time, Daniel enjoys rock climbing outdoors, learning about music history, and cooking new recipes at home.
