Sarah E. Ligon

Sarah Ligon’s experience includes trademark prosecution and litigation in addition to copyright, right of publicity, and sweepstakes law. Sarah began her career at a Chicago-based intellectual property firm where she also worked as a summer associate. While in law school, she worked as a law clerk at the Tribune Company, where she handled a variety of intellectual property law matters, as well as worked on issues involving marketing and advertising, media, internet, sweepstakes, and privacy law. Prior to that, she worked in the Branded Entertainment industry as a group marketing manager, where she managed numerous entertainment marketing and promotional campaigns on behalf of national and international brands.

Sarah received her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, with certificate in Intellectual Property. Sarah was also awarded the prestigious Dolores K. Hanna Trademark Prize. Sarah is a graduate of the University of Iowa where she received a B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication, with a minor in Political Science.
